Merino wool is not produced in India as you may known that it is imported from Australia. India is now the second largest importer of Australian Merino wool after China.
Angora wool is produced from Angora Rabbit as well as Angora Goats. Small amount of Angora Wool is produced in India and such goats are found in the hilly regions of J& K etc.
Ladakh region of J&K State produces the finest Pashmina wool in the world and due to excellent fiber properties it falls under specialty fiber.
